My friend’s dog bit through my slipper in such a way that its left strap was holding together by a single thread. I used that broken chappal for a year because I was always so preoccupied with life.
One day, I went out for a walk in my garden and lost my balance because of my rickety slipper. I went back into my house with a bleeding knee and showed puppy eyes to my dad in hope for some sympathy.
A gruff “Aur pehno tooti hui chappal” was the only sympathy that I got.
I still didn’t learn my lesson, and went on with “life” wearing the same chappals. Until a week later, when I went out grocery shopping with papa and he took a wrong turn in the market.
“Yeh kya hai? Iss sadak pe kyun aaye?”
“Yahan Bata ki shop hai. Tumhari chappal nahi leni?”
Fathers are the people who take care of you when you yourself forget to do so.
Some people love with words, and but the best ones love with actions.
