About

The story of Measured Minutes is mundane and ordinary. Something that happened to me one ordinary day. Something that could happen to you (or already has!) one routine day…

I got up really early for work one day. The sun hadn’t risen by the time I left for office, and I very well knew that it would have set much before I reached home. In short, I wouldn’t get to see the day time sky that day. Or on any similar day in the near future. I was tired. Like super tired.

I was traveling by metro that day, and was dragging my feet trying to cross the long transection between Magenta and Yellow line at Hauz Khaz station. I was in a hurry, yet my brain felt so foggy, and my body so slow. And suddenly, I started having difficulty breathing. I still pushed myself to walk on.

8:15, you have to reach by 8:15“, I told myself, my jaw clenching in stress.

And suddenly I stopped myself. “Stop, Parul. Breathe. Just stop and breathe.” So I listened to my inner voice and took a deep breath. And immediately felt better again.

This is how the concept of Measured Minutes came to me. That moment of realization at a crowded metro station that all of us just need to breathe at least once in a day. That once in a day we need to pause our daily rat race and take a few moments to relax, reconnect and heal.

And this is what Measured Minutes is all about. A reminder for you to relax and take care of yourself. A reminder that you need to reconnect with yourself. A reminder that you are going to be ok.

A reminder for you to just breathe…
